FROM US TO YOU
Great clothes, better price
In 2010 Bon Vivant’s founder Jean-Mathieu Vincent co-founded a small neighbourhood menswear shop in Montreal. The store was a pioneer in the industry, being among the first stores in the city to stock some of the world’s most coveted brands, including Garbstore, Stüssy, Wings + Horns, Filson and Oliver Spencer. Through his relationship with these brands, Jean-Mat developed a unique perspective on the menswear industry. He learned about sourcing fabric, ethical manufacturing and classic styling. He used this new-found knowledge to start his own brand –– this brand –– Bon Vivant.
Bon Vivant was started with a clear goal in mind: to make simple, elegant and high-quality menswear that transcend trend and become wardrobe staples –– and do it locally. As a former retailer, we know all about markups –– we set them. A few years back, when we started selling our clothes through third-party retailers, we saw our prices sore. We wanted our quality to be as good as the best clothing designers in the industry, but we wanted to offer a better price.
At Bon Vivant, our work is based on creating lasting relationships, that means working with sustainable fabric manufacturers, it means partnering with local garment makers, it means developing the trust and confidence that the people involved in making our clothes share our vision. With our new direct-to-consumer model, we’re investing in our relationship with you, our customer. When you buy a Bon Vivant garment, you contribute to these important relationships, you invest in quality, and you pay for nothing more.
